My name is Caitlyn, my UK friends call me Cait and my US friends call me Caito. Since we’re going to be friends, you can call me either right off the bat! I’m from the Pacific North West, moved to London in 2018, Edinburgh in 2020, and now reside in San Jose, California.

Becoming a photographer wasn’t anything I’d ever planned on happening. When my best friend Bethany, lost her beloved brother Brady, she asked if I would assist her at weddings. As he always would. I told her that I’d never held a camera in my life, but that I would be there whenever she needed me.

After a few weddings together, I remember Bethany saying maybe you’ll start doing photography one day, keep these photos for your portfolio. I told her “no way, I’m just happy to get to hang out with you all day”. However, over time, photography started to turn into a love and passion of mine.

It truly changed my life.

Usually, people get into photography because they see the beauty of what’s around them which they want to capture. It was the opposite for me, by capturing photos, the camera opened my eyes to the beauty around me. It showed me the beauty of the changing seasons, color tones, cultures, natural lighting, people laughing together, and the unique ways people express themselves with their families.

Since I’ve become a photographer, I have photographed weddings, engagements, pregnancies, conferences, safaris, small businesses, and non-profits. My camera has taken me all over the world. Teaching me about culture and how to see commonalities but celebrate differences in people. To not just take a photo but learn about who I’m taking a picture of. To draw out who they are in a photograph.

I’d love to work with you, and if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to message me about anything. I remember when photography was a whole new world to me. So, trust me you can ask me absolutely anything!

In the meantime, I’ll be exploring this new city with my husband, two sons, and new friends. Hopefully, I’ll see you around!

All the joy,

Cait
